The Shelby County Museum & Archives houses a large collection of records and research material. It contains an extensive collection of rare books, microfilm and census records dating back to 1790. Information about Shelby County families, schools, churches and communities can also be found. Many of the old county courthouse records are maintained within the archives.
Bobby Joe Seales, who served as Executive Director of the Shelby County Museum & Archives as well as President of the Shelby County Historical Society until his retirement in 2015, put together a fantastic online resource where you can learn more about the records and research material found in our archives.
